Industrial scale food production aims to offer fruit of standardized size and pleasing appearance. Between 30—50% of fruit production are considered unworthy for sale or even go to waste, simply because it is not looking good enough.
My series of 33 windfall pears from Philadelphia, a small village south-east of Berlin, portraits each one as the charming and battered character it is.
