Tamron has announced the upcoming release of its 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Di III-A VC VXD (Model B061) lens for Canon RF and Nikon Z APS-C mirrorless camera systems. The suggested retail price is $629.
This all-in-one zoom lens was first launched in 2021 for Sony E and Fujifilm X mounts and was the first lens to offer a 16.6x zoom ratio for APS-C mirrorless systems. With focal length coverage equivalent to 27–450mm on Nikon Z and 28.8–480mm on Canon RF APS-C bodies, it spans wide angle to ultra-telephoto in a single unit. The lens is designed for versatility across a variety of shooting scenarios, including travel, landscape, wildlife, and general-purpose photography.
Tamron emphasizes portability with a compact, lightweight build. Autofocus is driven by its VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) linear motor, and image stabilization is provided by Tamron’s proprietary VC (Vibration Compensation) system. Close-focusing performance is notable, with a minimum object distance of 5.9 inches at the wide end and a 1:2 maximum magnification ratio.

I have had this lens for my Fuji H2 for around 2 years. It has been a good all around lens for hiking, etc. Here is a pic from last week bear Mount Rainier in Washington state.
