Insta360 Announces GO Ultra, a 4K 60p Pocket Camera With a Bigger Sensor, microSD Storage, and Longer Run Time

Insta360 has announced the GO Ultra, a square, magnet-mountable pocket camera built around a 1/1.28" sensor and a new 5 nm AI chip. The camera records up to 4K 60p and adds swappable microSD storage (up to 2 TB), longer run time, and new low-light processing.

Insta360 GO Ultra takes the advancements made with the Ace and X series cameras and puts them into the type of compact, pocket camera our GO Series creators enjoy,” said Max Richter, Insta360 co-founder and VP of marketing.

What’s New

  • Larger sensor and new processing: A 1/1.28" sensor (221% larger than the previous model) and a 5 nm AI chip aim to improve detail and reduce noise, with Active HDR and PureVideo modes for low light.

  • 4K 60p across more modes: The camera now records up to 4K 60p, with additional aspect ratios (4:3, 16:9, and 2.35:1) and slow motion up to 1080p at 240 fps.

  • Hands-free, wearable POV: A built-in magnetic base works with accessories like the Magnet Pendant and Magnetic Easy Clip, plus new options such as Sticky Tabs and the Toddler Titan Hat Clip. The “Toddler Titan” accessory is offered as a standalone Toddler Titan Hat Clip and as part of a GO Ultra Toddler Titan Kit, per Insta360’s store.

  • Action Pod control/charging: The camera streams over Bluetooth to the Action Pod for remote framing on a 2.5" flip touchscreen and extended battery life.

  • microSD storage: Unlike GO 3S’s fixed storage, GO Ultra uses removable microSD media up to 2 TB.

  • Waterproofing: IPX8 to 33 ft (10 m) for the standalone camera.
