Broncolor has announced the Stelos 800 L, a battery-powered monolight delivering 800 joules and a notably compact design. The unit adds adjustable flash color temperature, a feature the company has typically reserved for its power packs, alongside high-speed sync, V-mount battery support, and USB-C power input. Availability is slated for September 2025 through authorized partners.
The Stelos 800 L head is built in Switzerland and is designed to slot into existing Broncolor workflows. It supports RFS 2 and RFS 3 radio transmitters, control via the bronControl app over built-in Wi-Fi, and bronAPI for custom software integration.

The Stelos 800 L is Broncolor’s attempt to bring pack-level features into a portable, battery-driven form. By adding adjustable flash color temperature, high-speed sync, and cross-compatibility with both its own and third-party V-mount batteries, the company is targeting photographers who want studio-level control outside of the studio. Shipments begin in September 2025, with preorder here.

Using V-Mount is a bigger deal than a lot of people might think. I can use a wire adapter and clamp the Battery lower on the stand to get a better balance. Also, I just can use third-party VMounts with more or less capacity.
V-mount, cool!
Broncolor Wi-Fi app, not cool..
I had a friend who had about 5 siros heads that were always in some state of disrepair and malfunction. He picked them up for $800/each becasue they were new-in-box old stock that had been sitting on shelves for years.
Broncontrol app works well overall. Have used it in my studio for a few years.
Sounds like the strobes he has probably have some bad boards - probably some capacitors that are out of spec from sitting on the shelf unused for so long.
Really cool they finally brought flash color temp control to their monolight lineup. They have had this feature for the high-end packs for 30+ years. Really gives that added precision and control.
