Antigravity Announces A1, a 249 g 8K 360 Drone With Immersive Goggles and Gesture Controls

Antigravity, a new drone brand incubated by Insta360 and partners, announced the A1 today. The sub-250 g aircraft combines built-in 8K 360 capture with first-person goggles and a motion “Grip” controller, aiming to separate where you look from where you fly.

What It Is

A1 uses a dual-lens camera (one lens above the fuselage and one below) to record the entire environment in 360 degrees. The company says its stitching hides the airframe from both the live view and recorded footage, yielding an “invisible drone” look.

The flight experience is built around Antigravity’s Vision goggles and Grip controller. With the brand’s FreeMotion tech and head tracking, you can look freely in any direction while steering the drone independently via hand movements, allowing you to capture first and frame later in editing.

Safety features include return to home and a payload-detection system designed to block misuse or unauthorized modifications. At 249 g, A1 falls into the sub-250 g category used by many regulators, though rules vary by country.

Antigravity is also opening a co-creation program ahead of launch. Selected applicants will test pre-production units and can earn part of a $20,000 reward pool for ideas that ship in the retail product. Applications are live on the company’s site

Key Specs and Features

  • Built-in 8K 360 capture with top-and-bottom lens configuration.

  • Dual-lens design captures with no blind spots; advanced stitching removes the drone from footage.

  • Vision goggles provide 360 live view with head tracking.

  • Grip controller enables point-to-fly gesture controls.

  • Post-flight reframing: export multiple angles and aspect ratios from a single 360 clip; effects like Tiny Planet and horizon flips supported.

  • 249 g takeoff weight (sub-250 g category in many regions).

  • Safety: return to home and a payload-detection system.

  • Ecosystem positioning: Antigravity is a brand incubated by Insta360 alongside third-party collaborators.

Availability

Antigravity says A1 will launch globally in January 2026. Pricing, bundles, and regional details will be announced later.
