Cow Elk and Calf, Northern Colorado

I don't make wildlife photographs often, but sometimes the opportunity just presents itself, like here. I was in Colorado with some friends who like to do wild life photography... I was, of course, they to do landscape work, and the two are not incompatible. It was icy cold and snowing when this cow elk and her baby, probably a yearling calf since it was way before calving season and this obviously isn't a newborn, wobbly legged baby. They just stood there, in nearly a perfect pose. How could I resist? I used a Canon F-1 camera and a 200mm f-2.8 lens and Kodak Ektachrome E-100S film with a UV 15 filter on the lens.
