What a day! I was up super early to catch those awesome twilight shots of the famous tree line at Lake Mattamuskeet. Once the sun was out, I zipped over to the Mattamuskeet National Refuge for some wildlife photography. Guess what? The Egrets were having a party, and I totally lucked out! After that, I headed up through Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge to the Outer Banks. It was an 18-hour adventure, almost 500 miles, but totally worth it.
